Bill Strait serves as General Counsel for The Ultimus Group, LLC and its subsidiaries and as President of Northern Lights Distributors, LLC (NLD). Prior to their acquisition by GTCR, LLC, Mr. Strait served as General Counsel of the Gemini Companies and as Associate General Counsel for the Gemini Companies’ parent company, NorthStar Financial Services Group, LLC.  As General Counsel for Ultimus, Mr. Strait is tasked with the oversight of all legal matters for Ultimus and its subsidiaries. As President of NLD, Mr. Strait is responsible for NLD’s day to day operations.

Prior to joining the Gemini Companies in 2012, Mr. Strait was a partner at Scudder Law Firm, P.C., LLO, where he was engaged in a corporate finance law practice from 1998 to 2012.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Cornell Law School.  Mr. Strait currently holds the Series 7, 24, 65 and 99 securities registrations.
